Coming soon... ratgirlindustries@depop
My current wardrobe (excluding socks, shoes, and underwear) is 73% thrifted items. Yeah, I counted.
"Hannah, why do u waste so much time digging through heaps of old clothes when you could just buy them new and easily at the mall or online from the comfort of your home?" - nobody, but I'll answer anyways
1. to save $$$: It's no secret that thrifting is probably the most affordable way to add new clothes to your wardrobe and tbh it's probably my main driving factor as well as the reason I originally got into thrifting.
2. bc fuck fast fashion: I'm not here to make anyone feel guilty or shame anyone for shopping fast fashion, but for anyone interested in learning more about the downsides of the fast fashion industry, I recommend watching "The True Cost" on Netflix or "Fashion Factories Undercover" on Youtube.
3. as an attempt to hold on to a thread of "originality": my style is about as original as the next neutral-toned, 4-season, wardrobe wearing gal BUT 3/4 of my wardrobe consists of pieces that you can't pick up at f21 and accidentally match with half of the girls on Court St.
"But Hannah, why would I spend hours rummaging through all the thrift stores in town only to find one or two items, when I can go to AE or f21 and get all my shopping done in <1 hour?"
This is where I come in. I love to thrift shop, but I only need so many clothes. So I will be selling my enviable thrift finds under the brand "ratgirl industries" on my depop page: https://www.depop.com/ratgirlindustries
I will have my inventory posted and my depop up and running mid-late September so stay tuned.
My current inventory ranges from XS-XL with styles varying from grandma chic to cowboy grunge to sk8er boi's girlfriend. Right now, about 40% of my inventory are size S as I've always been buying for myself in the past, but I will be expanding and growing my size range as things come together.
In order to curate my inventory to what you want, email me requests. I obviously won't be able to find specific items, but if given sizes and a general style/category, I will be able to keep your interests in mind as I'm shopping around!
